Most of these apps can even be downloaded directly from the Google Play Store itself.

• Download the GApps package file from the link given above. Do not extract the zip file. Then copy that GApps.zip file on your Android device. Boot the device into CWM recovery using your recovery combo buttons.
• Gapps are updated with each Android version and the latest Android 4.4.4 Kitkat has also got the updated apps where new features have been added as well as improvements have been made. Gapps can be installed on any Rom including the CyanogenMod, AOSP, Paranoid, AOKP or any other.

Steps to Install Google Apps (GApps)

In this article, we’ll use TWRP as well as CWM custom recovery to install GApps on custom ROMs. Let’s get straight into it.

Method 1: Using TWRP Recovery

• Download the GApps package file from the link given above.
• Do not extract the zip file.
• Then copy that GApps.zip file on your Android device.
• Boot the device into TWRP recovery mode using your recovery combo buttons. If you don’t know which buttons to press, use the ‘Quick Reboot’ app from Google Play Store.
• Once you are in TWRP recovery, click on the Install option present there.

• Then navigate to the GApps.zip file which you’ve copied earlier and select it.

• On the next screen, swipe right to initiate the Google Apps flashing process.

• Be patient and wait until the flashing process finishes. As soon as it completes, you’ll see a successful message on the screen.

• Then restart your Android device by selecting the Reboot→System option present on the TWRP recovery mode itself.

• Finally! You’ve successfully flashed the latest Google Apps using TWRP recovery on your Android smartphone.

Method 2: Using CWM Recovery

• Download the GApps package file from the link given above. Do not extract the zip file.
• Then copy that GApps.zip file on your Android device.
• Boot the device into CWM recovery using your recovery combo buttons. If you don’t know which buttons to press, use the ‘Quick Reboot’ app from Google Play Store.
• Once you are in CWM recovery, click on the install zip from sd card option.

• On the next screen, click on choose zip from sd card option.

• This will show you all the files located on your phone. Just navigate to the GApps.zip file which you’ve copied earlier and select it. On the next screen, press yes to initiate the Google Apps flashing process.

• Wait as the flashing process will hardly take few minutes to complete. As soon as it completes, you’ll see a successful message on the screen.
• Then click on ++++Go Back++++ and restart your Android device by selecting the reboot system now option present on the CWM recovery main menu.

• Finally! You’ve successfully flashed the latest Google Apps using CWM recovery on your Android device.

In this post, we are going to show you how to unofficially get Android KitKat on your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100 by installing a custom ROM.

There has been no official word as to when an update to Android 4.4 KitKat will be available for the Galaxy Note 2 but, until then, we can install CM 11 custom ROM to get a taste of KitKat.

Prepare your device

1. Only use this guide with a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100.
2. Charge battery to around 60-80 percent.
3. You need to have root access on your device.
4. You should have TWRP recovery installed on your device. Use it to make a backup of your current system.
5. Back up important contacts, SMS messages and call logs.

Note: The methods needed to flash custom recoveries, roms and to root your phone can result in bricking your device. Rooting your device will also void the warranty and it will no longer be eligible for free device services from manufacturers or warranty providers. Be responsible and keep these in mind before you decide to proceed on your own responsibility. In case a mishap occurs, we or the device manufacturers should never held responsible.

Install:

1. Place the downloaded ROM.zip and gapps.zip on the SD card of your device.
2. Boot your device into TWRP recovery. First turn it off then turn it back on by pressing and holding down the volume up, home and power buttons.
3. In TWRP recovery: Install>Zip files>Choose the ROM’s zip file that you placed
4. Install the file. It could take a while so just wait.
5. When the file is installed, do the same thing for the gapps.zip.
6. When gapps is installed, reboot the device. You should see the CM logo. The first boot could take a while so just wait.

NOTE: If you get stuck in bootloop, just boot into TWRP recovery and wipe factory data/cache/dalvik cache from there.
