There are plenty of negative feedback when it comes to TIA Portal. I hope to share some positives. We updated our systems from TIA Portal (Step7 & WinCC) V13 SP0 Update 6 (V13.0.6) to TIA Portal V13 SP1 Update 4 (V13.1.4). The uninstall and (especially) the installation was a pain. Mostly because of the lack of accurate progress feedback. Question: I just installed TIA V14, does it need to remove V14 to reinstall TIA V15? Answer: The new version is different from the old version in that there will be new hardware updates. Therefore, if your computer is weak and you are afraid to reinstall the new version, just update HSP (Hardware Support Packages).

I've started a new project, setup a generic 1215, and used detect to upload the settings. The processor downloads all blocks, and the io modules (2x 1222 DC/DC, and 1x DC input module) added on all pull in the exact model names with Fw. 2.0, but the modules say error in the error field and nothing else. The entire online and diagnose window is blank or has very vague error texts.
